Instagram user @cleanish_eats brought a whole new meaning to our #allwrappedup challenge! Her healthy lunch, consisting of chicken, avocado and cilantro is beautifully wrapped around thinly sliced cucumber. Its beautiful and healthy, and the dash of Tapatio hot sauce completes the true California look.

According to Lauren Whitehouse, Yahoo Web Trend Expert, over the past month Yahoo users have been searching up just about every kind of BBQ recipe, including sauce, ribs and even chicken pizza. We’ve pulled some of our top barbecue recipes that are just as easy to make at home as they are to devour with friends or family. Usually when we think of German cuisine, bratwurst, schnitzel and other meat-centric dishes come to mind. But there’s a whole vegetarian side of German food that’s just waiting to be discovered. While many dishes are potato-heavy, they can be lightened up with fresh and flavorful vegetables. So while we’re still slowly transitioning into spring, try some of these meatless German comfort foods. Don’t forget the Hefeweizen!

Products We Love: Kettle Head Popcorn

When 3 p.m. rolls around, there’s nothing we crave more than a crunchy snack that’s satisfying but doesn’t leave us feeling guilty. This seemed to be a bit of a challenge, until we tried Kettle Head Popcorn. Located in Denver, CO, the folks at Kettle Head combine organic popcorn with local ingredients for five stellar popcorn flavors, each one more unique and crave-worthy than the last. Each flavor is gluten-free, as well as either all-natural, vegetarian or dairy free, too.

 

 

Our mid-day snack craving was sufficed with the Toasted Cinnamon, Spicy Southwest, Denver Cheddar and Kettle Corn flavors, and it was truly tough to pick a favorite. The original kettle corn was just sweet enough and definitely left us feeling a bit nostalgic to the carnival days. Toasted Cinnamon was sweet and warm; we’d imagine it would go great with mixed nuts. The Denver Cheddar was savory and succulent, and tasted completely natural (no bright orange fingers here!). And the Spicy Southwest definitely warmed up our taste buds, with flavors of chili peppers and southwest spices. We hear it goes great with beer!

 

Kettle Head delivers nation-wide and delivery is free in Denver and the surrounding areas. You can order a small bag just to try it out or even a 1-gallon tin to feed the masses. Trust us, this stuff will go fast, so be prepared to share.

Spring into Happy Hour with a Green Machine Champagne Cocktail

Happy first official day of spring! Whether you’re surrounded by sunlight or still shivering in your sweaters, use today as an opportunity to drink something seasonal: our Green Machine. Made with earthy green tea, tart lime juice and a sprig of mint, this green cocktail is perfect for brunch or a night in. You may even gain a little bit of hope for warmer weather!

 

 

 

Green Machine

Ice

2 ounces chilled prepared green tea

1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice

1/2 ounce agave nectar or honey

Champagne

Fresh mint

 

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add green tea, lime juice and agave nectar or honey; shake well. Strain into 2 flutes, then top with champagne. Garnish with fresh mint.

Tip: Look for matcha green tea to create the greenest hued cocktail.

Now here’s a dish that’s worth getting our fingers messy! Instagram user @townsendkitchen created these homemade jalapeño poppers that look pretty close to identical to our version! Spicy, cheesy and toasted to perfection, these look like the perfect appetizer or party snack for any time of year (or day!).

Technique Tuesday: Six Cool Whips!

Dessert just got a little crazy! Pour 1/2 cup chilled heavy whipping cream into a bowl, then beat in these fun, flavorful additions.

 

 

1. Purple Cow

Mix it in: Whip the cream to soft peaks. Whisk 5 tbsp. grape jelly until smooth, add to the cream, then whip to stiff peaks.

Serve with: Peanut butter pie

 

2. Double Coconut

Mix it in: Whip the cream to soft peaks. Whisk 5 tbsp. cream of coconut, such as Coco Lopez; whip to stiff peaks. Fold in 2 tbsp. toasted coconut.

Serve with: Chopped pineapple

 

3. Green Apple-Licious

Mix it in: Add 2 tsbp. crushed green apple Jolly Rancher candies to the cream. Chill until candies dissolve; whip to stiff peaks.

Serve with: Butterscotch sundae

 

4. Lemon Cream

Mix it in: Whip the cream to soft peaks. Whisk 5 tbsp. lemon curd; whip to stiff peaks.

Serve with: Strawberry shortcake

 

5. Chocolate Cloud

Mix it in: Whip the cream to soft peaks. Whisk 5 tbsp. chocolate syrup; whip to stiff peaks.

Serve with: Vanilla Pudding

 

6. Pepperminty

Mix it in: Add 1 1/2 tbsp. crushed peppermints to the cream. Chill until candies dissolve; whip to stiff peaks.

Serve with: Hot chocolate
